COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you
start playing.

01 Where can I play Dead Drop Protocol?

You can play Dead Drop Protocol in your browser now. The iOS and Android apps are still in development, with release details to follow on the download page.

02 Do we need to be online at the same time?

No. That’s the point. You each play when you have time, whether that’s ten minutes later or the next day. Your partner’s turn will be waiting when you come back.

03 How long does a turn take?

Usually six to ten minutes. That’s enough time to catch up, inspect the new evidence, solve a short puzzle and leave your partner a note.

04 How long is The Amberline Protocol?

The expanded first case contains ten stages and twenty turns, with roughly 60–75 minutes of active investigation for each player. You can stop safely at the end of every turn.

05 Can I play with a friend or family member?

Yes. Play with a partner, friend, sibling or parent. It also works well when you live in different places or keep different hours.

06 What happens while I wait for my partner?

You can go back over clues, organise the case board and write down a theory. There are no streaks, countdowns or penalties for taking your time.

07 Will there be more cases?

Yes. The Amberline Protocol is the first. More cases will bring new settings, characters and clues while keeping the same turn-by-turn format.
